Dawlish Seawall features in A1 Lighting Magazine

Photograph of the top of Dawlish sea wall at night with low level lighting

The purpose of this shoot in Dawlish, South Devon was to capture DW Windsor’s new Garda lighting scheme along the top of the first 330m section of the rebuilt Dawlish sea wall. The job took some planning as it needed a combination of good weather, sunset and high tide to show off the project at its best. Picking a day when it all worked together took a few months of weather and tide table watching. It finally came together on a sunny day in late October 2021, I had my fingers crossed for the long drive to Devon hoping the weather would hold. I spent the afternoon taking daylight shots and planning out the evenings shoots knowing that the lights would come on well after sunset, not giving much time to capture the lighting with some light in the sky. A real bonus was the moon rise over Sandy Bay.

It’s always nice to see a shoot in print, with a cover and feature in the February 2022 edition of A1 Lighting magazine.
